Be The One Who Heals

As I walking through Walmart yesterday I noticed a family shopping together. Dad, mom and 3 young children. I witnessed the dad yelling at one of the children. They all proceeded to walk by me...the younger boy almost running into me. The father kindly apologized to me then turns around to yell at his son. Words I would not repeat. It broke my heart.

What is spoken into us effects us. We tend to hang on to the things that were spoken to us as children--whether good or bad. And why is it--we always remember the bad. Even if 100 great things are spoken to us and 1 bad thing....that one bad thing effects us.

Today I want to bring an awareness to heal with our words. To encourage life to be spoken out of our mouths.

Proverbs 15:4

A gentle tongue (with its healing power) is a tree of life, but willful contrariness in it breaks down the spirit.

WOW!!! What a powerful scripture. We can deliver healing with our tongue or we can break down the spirit.

Growing up in a big family (7 of us kids) our dad had some scriptures he had us memorize. At the time I didn't understand the significance of those scriptures. One I can not forget--Proverbs 15:1

A soft answer turns away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger.

As a parent--how well I understand that one.

But it goes so much deeper.

What we speak--we create!

If we speak death--we create death in areas we may not even be aware of.

Power of Life and Death are in the tongue.

God said we are made in His image. We create with our tongue....What are we creating?

We want to agree with heaven over our lives and those around us. We want to speak life, love, peace, joy, healing, faith, restoration to whoever comes into our world. Even to the stranger on the street...We have the power of life and the power to bring change and healing! Be the one who heals!!
